Should all fawns be wormed?  If so, at what age do I do this and what do I give her?  I have never seen any worms in her poop but one day it is very runny then the next it starts to harden up.  I am feeding her goat's milk (full strength) carrots and apples while she is inside and she eats lots of greens when she is outside.

When she eats her bottle she gets a really big pot gut and I was wondering if she might have worms.

She is really small for her age....the wild ones that come into our yard to feed are 3-4 times bigger than her.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Inside???? How old is the fawn?  Do you have her started on grain of some kind?

Thanks to all for the answers.

Yes, she comes inside to get her bottle and snack.  Then she takes a nap under my computer desk before going back outside.  She comes and goes as she pleases and when she decides to go with the other deer that will be fine.

We got the fawn on June 11th as her mother was hit by a car and I think she was only a few days old.

We tried to give her a little scratch that we had but she would not even taste it.  Is there a special grain I should be giving her?

Thanks

I agree with Hershey's, Panacur paste is your best option for a bottle fed fawn. It is the most gentle.

Most farm stores sell it. TSC and Rural King and etc. It comes in a large plastic syringe type tube. It is usually labeled for horses. There will be a dial to set the c.c. amount that is squirted out into the fawns mouth or bottle.
