Going to use safeguard paste to worm our month old fawns. planning on mixing the paste in their bottles. Is this the correct way to worm a fawn? how many CC's do we administer per fawn, of the safeguard paste?

NOONE has any input on this subject or maybe noone uses safeguard to worm their fawns??? HELP PLEASE??

I would give my month old fawns 1/4cc of ivomec...subque if your are treating as a precaution, orally if they are showing affects from worms. If I administer orally, I would draw 1/4 cc of ivomec into a 3cc syringe, a 3cc syringe cause it fits their mouth better than a 6cc, then draw milk up to 1cc into the syringe, remove the needle and feed to fawn deep in the mouth. If you keep it to no more than 1cc it reduces the chances of running out the sides of the fawns mouth, but you still of course try to get it back far enough to make sure they get it all. It's what I have been doing and it's been several years since a fecal has come back as positive. I of course treat all adults with ivomec as well when they are down. Panacur is what I used to use and was not happy...at all.

cloudycr - I would not recommend that you put it in their bottle. Ivomec does not homogenize/mix well with milk so subsequently one risks the small amount, 1/4cc, getting lost/stuck on the sides of the bottle.

Safeguard (Panacur) dewormer - Another "white" dewormer. Currently worthless in killing stomach worms in most areas, despite claims on label. Does kill tapeworms.
