The West Virginia Deer Farmers need your help. The help they need from you will just take a few minutes of your day. Here is what they need.

Please call one of the three numbers below and say "Hello I am from "this state" deer farming has helped our state's economy, and it is time for the state of WV to recognize deer farming as an agricultural industry and a wildlife issue".

People to call in WV,

1.WV governor office 304-558-2000

2.WV senator Corey Palumbo office 304-357-7880 email [email protected]

3. WV senate president Jeffrey Kessler 304-357-7801 email [email protected]

Reason for your call

The WVDFA is trying to get a bill passed from the control of DNR, to the Department of Agriculture. The WV DNR is running radio advertising and newspaper ad's educating the public and the hunters of WV that our farm raised deer will cause disease to the wild herd. Also it has been said that there should not be any deer farming in the state of WV and the DNR will try to stop us by all means necessary. So with the support of deer farmers of America, maybe we can do this together. To make a Donation please email Allen Biser at [email protected] or PM allenb on this forum.

Thanks to all that gives us support,

Steve Toth

President WVDFA

Thanks Barry, I corrected the spelling in the link.

Allen, do you have a email address for the Governor's office? If not I'll give them a call but I'd rather email if possible.

Allen will it only help if you say you are from the state of WV? I do not feel comfortable lying about that....but I want to help where I can........is it still helpful to call and show your support even though you are from a different State??

Dennis, I think you misunderstood the post, please say "Hello I am from "Whatever state you are from in your case Pa." deer farming has helped our state's economy, and it is time for the state of WV to recognize deer farming as an agricultural industry etc.......

Thanks so much to those that have called or emailed the Senators and Governor. Please keep them coming. If we do not get this Bill passed the future of deer farming in West Virginia doesn't look good. Thanks again as these calls and emails can help make a difference. Allen

Ahhhh duuuuhhh ok I just definitely read the post wrong........sometimes I amaze myself on how stupid I can be at times! sorry about that Allen......I will send an email ASAP!!

This just makes my blood boil, why should the WV DNR have any control over what livestock you guys raise??? Your deer are NOT the property of WV DNR to have any control over, it should definatly be overseen by the WV Dept. of agriculture. Almost every state DNR is against any kind of commercial hunting and shutting you guys down is just what they would want to do. I'll definatly send an e-mail asap. Good luck

Thank you Cody!! Everyone Please email if you haven't already.

Everyone please take a moment and send the emails........I know if it were my state under attack I would appreciate any help from the other Deer Farmers.....we need to stay united and fight for what we know is right. lets flood WV with emails!!

I have sent some e-mails and I am going to send more now, I hope that everyone on these forums feels reponsible to send an email to help our fellow farmers in WV, it will only take a moment, and it will go a long way to know you are voicing your approval of deer farming in WV. Anyone that knows WV farmers personally should know they are a great group of guys who are very passonite about deer, I don't want to see them deprived of their right to raise these great animals.
