Wow nice pic,, i like the fawn pens,i tried with that height, but sweetpea, was jumping over at 3 days.good luck in your photography.i noticed you using two cameras.you aint got a old one laying around, you dont use! cheap,or give away.:D
 
dcwhitetails, the fawning pens where built with adjustable floors by a local deer farmer, Shannon Teix Whitetails. We used these fawning pens last season and love the ease of cleaning and caring for fawns.:D I shoot with 2 canon cameras, one is a D20 the other is a Eos 1-D. My father has provided photography lessons since i was 10. I have much to learn please send me your comments.:rolleyes:
 
Isaac, how old are you? You seem very precocious for your age. Nice job on the photos!
 
Isaac it's great that you have found something to be passionate about at your age. Not many 13 year olds show your dedication for something thats not played on the TV or computer. Photography is a great job or even just a hobby. You seem to have a nack for it. Good luck with it in the future and appreciate that Dad of yours for supporting you. Rick
 
It is great how attentive your parents are with you and your sister. You are very lucky to have such good parents. But something tells me you are a smart kid and you know this already.
 
I think your a very talented photographer!! And you will only get better with age!
 
Issac, I have a question or two.... What formula is Apple Creek using, and what was the succes rate with the Inseminator.
 
Feeding?.......your only half done.



Having more than one person feed and look after the fawns and all ages of deer really helps to calm them down, the more different human smells they can sample and associate with food and safety the more they trust, It all about building a bond,some deer take more work to convince them and I think sometimes we stop short or just get tired and don't imprint with more than food,does spend much more time preening and cleaning their fawns than feeding them ,when we have no food to give them out of our hands they have nothing to make that link to safety and a real tame fawn gets wilder .... comments anyone, as if I had to ask.
 
Isaac,the last picture you posted,the bottom right corner of the picture,you can see that the bottle's are hanging on some kind of stand.Does that have air blowing thur it to dry the bottle's?Where do you get them at.Would really be interested in buying one of those.Thank's in advance.
 
It dose not have air blowing trough but rely helps dry the bottles.

I will respond back to tell you where to get them!!!
 
Isaac, Do you have any problem keeping those fawns in those boxes. I make mine 4' high and by the time they are three weeks old they are trying to jump out. I've actually put a top on ours . Rick
 
No we do not have problems. When a deer is 2 1/2 -3 weeks old they go outside to pens. Our boxes can also be set to different Levels. If the deer start jumping out though we put a mesh over the boxes. The mesh also helps keep out flies when they get bad!!
 
Rick, don't the fawns want to run around by the time they are 2-3 weeks old? Not trying to cause an argument but trying to learn. 3 sides of are fawn pens are 6 foot chain link and alley side is 4 foot tall for are gates. Do have one or 2 every year that hear you coming to feed and want to get a head start on the others so they meet ya in the alley. But they will follow you right back in with the bottle. Just wondering. ZZ
 
The rack you spotted should be available in any wine making supply store. I think I have seen them where you can run water through them to rinse the wine bottles, so just changing them over to air should not be too tough.
