I was wondering if anyone has seen a recent uptick in fawn mortality. Have heard of several fawns dying about 30-45 days after birth due to losing their appetite, developing rapid malaise and weakness, then dying within 2 days. No fever is reported. Some have been bottled fed, others still...

I only have six breeding does and I lose half of the fawns in the first four months. What should I give them at birth? Please be specific. I was tolled to vaccinate them, but with what?

We have a doe that had a single fawn on our property about May 17. We saw the fawn maybe two or three times but not within the last 6 days. How long would it take for the doe's milk bag to dry up if something has happened to the fawn? We thought that maybe having one fawn the milk bag does not...

Just curious about the average mortality rate of fawns. Is it better if left with the mama's or better if bottle fed. Like to hear about folks best years along with the worst. The short time i have been raising deer, it seems like the fawns look for a way to get in trouble.
