Hey there, I've been looking into getting a permit to breed big horn sheep but it seems you can't do that here in Utah. So now I'm curious if there are any breeders in Utah and what species of deer and sheep are allowed.

Recently purchased some land that is unsuitable for cattle or farming. I am considering raising deer to sell as shooters/stockers. Which species would you recommend as far as demand, compatibility with central Oklahoma, etc. I would prefer to not raise whitetail. If I were going to do it I...

Has anybody tried or know of someone who has tried cross breeding different species of deer. I know of a Ranch here in Lee County where they are breeding Red Deer with Elk. Like Whitetails with Axis, or something like that.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question :cool: I have a breeder friend of mine that use to tell me that Whitetail deer are the only species that will throw a separate DNA code everytime. Also, that they were the only ones who could pass on individual characteristics, i.e. antler characteristics...
