I have a neutered buck. He stays in velvet, has never shed his antlers but his antlers grow a little every year. One of his antlers has started growing out from the base and it is almost touching right over his eye. Any suggestions on what to do?

I have a 3 yr old buck who has a drop tine. A couple days ago I noticed the drop tine was somehow snapped off and is dangling only by the velvet. He hasn't shown any sign of bleeding and seems fine. Is this something I need to take action on or leave it alone ?

Not sure if this is the right tread to ask this question but I am curious if bucks lose their velvet off their antlers in their first year? 

I have a buck that keeps rubbing the velvet off the bass of his left horn next to his ear. He did this last year and the left side was screwed up. Is there something I can put on it to seal the velvet up?   Thanks Brent Thomure
