walk or stay

We have a fawn that is about 2 1/2 weeks old, and yesterday I found him lying down in the corner, looking sickly. I picked him up and rubbed him on the neck, and when I set him back down, he stood for maybe a second, then stumbled and fell. I am wondering what this could be, and how to treat...
