Other Life around the deer pen

Rick, I have tons of then around here. I can't find their nests though.

So far we have 3 calves 8-10 killdeer and 4 baby woodchucks.

Great pic, the little baby killdeer are so cute. The only other animals Ive seen around the pens this year are the cattle, i love it though, when i am out feeding sometimes i see the little calves go running through the pasture, bouncing up and down playing with each other. We dont really have a wild deer population around my farm, the deer are wiped out in my area, the game commisson cracked down on does a few years ago and are still hammering them relentlessly, which is why i dont hunt anymore. Not all of PA is depleted but a large portion is. I used to just like to watch the wild deer, but i only get to see one every couple months. Once in a while a wild turkey gets stuck in the deer pens, I have to go in and chase them out.

Don't you think it is a bad omen to have a bird in your pens called a Killdeer? Better call them snypes...
