i have 2 does in 1 pen that just gave birth the first time this year . the 1 doe has been coughing alot so i dewormed them with safeguard pellets . she looks well been eating good an drinking water looks healthy except this morning i noticed blood spot inside the shed an some mucus in another spot not far away from the blood . i also saw the blood on her backend . she is taking care of her 1 baby and sometimes the other 2 babies from her sister that is in the pen with her and she's been pacing up an down on the 1 side of the pen where i have it devided off from the buck that breed them . her poop has been clumps an not pelleted . i did see her give birth to her fawn after the birth she ate the left over stuff from the fawn i guess it was the bag the fawn was in . is that what they all do after birth so foxes don't draw in ? she also been chasing her sister around the pen an she is mostly laying around down at the end of the pen near a corner an has hoove marks on her side where it took some hair off to the skin . and her sister still has most of her winter hair still on and she has her spring coat already so does the buck . they all where all healthy never any problems till they gave birth this year with 3 fawns . i took pics of the mucus an blood near her stool . need help on what might this be asap . thanks for all your help .

I'm guessing she is just cleaning herself out from giving birth and you have nothing to worry about with the blood problem. If the blood is in the dropping she may have a problem as this would indicate coccidosis if the blood was dark black or brown. Check fawn has scours forum they have listed many preventives that you can put in the water.

The coughing could be a problem and may need antibotics at some point. Draxxin by dart would work for this but I would wait to see if worming helped her.

she had her fawn 1 week ago would the blood be cleaned out witin a week though ? sorry i think i forgot to mention she had her fawn 1 week ago not today .

I believe the blood in her droppings is not a problem. This blood is very red which would indicate to me she has a torn blood vessel in her rectum caused from birth straining. I think that will heal very soon. I also have seen stools with the white stuff in it after birthing and don't think that is a big problem either. I did nothing and it went away. I like to let the animals own immune system fix their problems.

it wasn't in the poop it was coming out of here urturus pee hole . just checked on her sorry for the confusion . is this normal after a week ? anybody else have this happen ? she is still caughing i was going to use ivomec plus wormer in water do they sell this at tsc ? is there any way to tell if the safegurd wormer killed any worms ? and what else would cause her to caugh ? thanks for all the help from you nice folks

o and i did hold the blood up to my nose it does have a oder . is there something i should do ? also i did feed them banana peels and i read someone said they are toxin is this true if so what would it do

is the ivomec injection for there water also ? do they sell it at tsc or where can i get it ? thanks

Ivermic injectable can be put on food but will not mix with water. Ivermic pour on should also be put on food not in water. As someone said before inject them or pour them as that would assure the proper dose.
