Mike Nedry and I finally decided to pull BamBam's antlers from his freezer and try to get them stripped off, cleaned up and mounted. When I opened the overnight package from Mike today I was speechless. The size of these antlers was simply amazing. The mass and palmation is un-believable. We are going to strip the velvet and put them back together on the original skull plate. Unfortunately we have the original skull plate. Then we will have them re-scored with an official hard antler score. Mike had them scored after cut-off at 448+ SCI. It will be interesting to see how they do in hard antler. I only took one measurement of the left base and came up with 11 6/8. :p

Here are some pics of the cut-offs

I didn't weigh them yet but will try tomorrow. Timberjack's weighed 12 lbs per side and these might be more than that.

Boy, am feeling better and better about that BamBam semen we used. Those guys will be 2 this year and we look forward to some awesome deer.

I have always thought that Bam Bam would and still can produce some great deer I am going to miss him as I don't think he was at his peak,... I still don't have a idea or an opinion on what to breed to open up the look a little but with that much bone , even if he only adds the mass and drops to your does it would still be a awesome outcome

I thought this would be a little fun. Below is a genetic pass-down chart from a Safe Capture class. Picture taking a doe with a lot of beam length and spread then crossing back with Bam Bam. You would be giving the fawns a 72% base circumference and a 75% antler weight possible pass-down increase from Bam Bam's genetics. According to the chart. The new buck fawn could have long beams, wide spread, and a ton of mass.:D

Percentage of passdown traits from the sire

No. of Points=.46

Spread=.42

Base of Circumference=.72

Beam Length=.47

Antler Weight=.75

Yearling Body Weight=.59

Percentage of passdown traits from the doe

No. of Points=.54

Spread=.58

Base of Circumference=.28

Beam Length=.53

Antler Weight=.25

Yearling Body Weight=.41

12 pounds...that almost scares me! Approximately what percentage of Timberjacks total body weight would this represent, if you have this info.

Wow! All this Bam Bam talk gets me excited......In February we purchased a 2 year old Bam Bam son out of a Queen daughter and he is really starting to look good. As a yearling he was nothing to brag about but i guess Bam Bam wasn't either. We are expecting great things from this deer. Bam Bam(448" one of the biggest ever) with Queen(arguably the best power doe ever) top and bottom. Watch for him this summer!

His name is "THE ORACLE".

MONSTER BUCKS

Today we had a single buck fawn out of "THE ORACLES" sister. She was live bred to our 2 year old who has Big Guy on top and a Bucky doe on the bottom . His name is Banjo and is already showing a great spread. Now if we can only have Bucky's spread with BamBam's mass and tines we would have something! I can't wait! I have never in my life wished time would fly like I do now as a Deer farmer. I feel like I'm forever wishing my life away! Anyone else have this problem?

MONSTER BUCKS

This is my 2 year old BamBam son. Anyone have any BamBam sons out there? I only know of my 2 year old and another 2 year old that's way bigger than mine and 1 really nice yearling. I would love to see some pictures. -Dan

We have a Bam Bam daughter that we bred to Tom Malouf's Big Stuff, and she produced twin buck fawns a few weeks ago. Exciting!

We have a BamBam daughter that we bred to our 270" 2yr Maxbo Briarpatch and she gave us a buck and doe fawn back in June, cant wait to see the end results on those babies!
