Had the same problem with him last year and thought he was getting better. He still has his winter coat and looks like he has a pot belly. Last year he was teh very last buck to shed his velvet. We wormed him twice last year thinking that might be the problem. He still eats and gets up he just has something going on and we can't figure it out.

Any thoughts would be of great help

thanks

What did you treat him with.I have seen others this way that were treated with valbazen when wormed after all else failed and they cleared up.Valbazen will take care of the liver flukes when givin and that couls also be your problem. It wont hurt the deer to do it either way so you have nothing to lose either way. Treat the whole herd with valbazen and you will have them all treated!

Mike, care to describe in detail how you treated with Valbazan?

We wormed him with ivomec plus...... ya describing in detail would be great... would like to get him healthy

Sorry been out all day.Good to hear from you bill.Derek when i treat with valbazen i just keep them off grain for a day our two then read the directions for amount of med's per weight of deer.I take the feed and spread it out on a piece of plywood and spray the valbazen and water mixture onto the feed and let it soak in for a half day or so and then just put it in the feeders. When i do mine i break the deer up in seperate pens.ie.. 10 deer = 5 deer in 2 different pens just to try a make sure they all get their share of the feed. If im not wrong valbazen is one or the only wormer that will take out the liver flukes. Those buggers will do a number on your deer if not kept under control.Give me a shout if ya's need anything else!!!

His brother is 200 inches his half brothers all went 200+ at 3. Any ideas stillhave pot belly and stool sample came up clean

guys really any advice to get this deer feeling better would be great? Eats like a horse ...pic doesn't do his belly justice....... he is last in everything......last to shed coat and velvet well into oct...... last to shed antlers....real calm and eats ....stool came back clean....only deer this way........... any thoughts?

My Rosa hasn't shed her winter coat yet, otherwise is acting normal and eating really well. What could be the cause of this? Temps are still a little on the cooler side here in Northern Illinois at night, but all other deer have lost their coats for the most part.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Last year she did live indoors for the winter due to a fractured Tibia... Could this be a contributing factor? She is a 2-yr old doe.

thx,

lana
