Looking for WIDE CLEAN typicals

A couple of the stocker bucks I just posted go back to a Dane doe..... small world. Dane does do produce some excellent quality typicals. There have been some rather long discussions here on the forums about producing typical deer and many of the old names in the industry come up every time as proven producers. Dane, Oscar, Prince, Hollywood, Thunder, Patrick, Boomer are just some of the old lines that just simply do it. Great buck Wayne and congrats to you and Russ on diversifying an already stellar line up of deer!!

Here's a couple of our deer so far this year:

Thanks Aaron! Those are just two of many nice typicals we have this year. We try to focus on large, clean frames.

PS: That's a nice yearling you've got. Definately showing some potential!

Here are two fairly typical two year olds

Todd & Richard: I didn't mean to get off on a tangent about pedigrees but I did. I know you definetely need to know the pedigree for the planning & breeding of your herd to take it to the next level. And rightly so, it is of the utmost importance to your herd development. And Richard this was not directed at you, when you asked about the pedigree. It was in response toward a small group that just totally discount a great looking deer because he doesn't have a power house pedigree. A lot of the smaller deer farmers are doing a GREAT job producing some great deer, they just don't get the credit they deserve because they may not have the great pedigree to go with the deer. We all started that way, let's just don't lose sight of what got us here. We'll work on getting some pics posted of Hugo's off springs. Thanks

PDaddy you are exactly right. Hoefully respect will be gained this way for the deer & in the industry.

Aaron & both Josh's great post and great deer congrats to all.

Shawn I know you guys are always pushing to stay ahead of the curve & it shows in your deer. Express is looking good.

Trigger- nice yearling- do you have a picture of Dream Tonto, I have a straw of him and have lost track oh him?

Wayne, you make a good point! Deer farming started years ago where there wasn't many big deer in the country. You bred to the biggest deer you could find and sometimes that wasn't that big. Then you took the best looking offspring out of them and bred them.. This is why our foundation stock is solid .. example.. flees, borkholder, griffiths, bontager... they were all bred within a bloodline to make the line stronger!! Now everyone is all into hype instead of production. There are alot of bloodlines out there that dont have big names.. Great deer wayne!! Love his look!

Richard, I knew someone would ask, what's his pedigree and I knew I would ask myself, what would my answer be??? Russ and I have some outstanding bucks on the farm with X-Factor. Here is a run down on them.

First up is Rocky: He may well hit 500 inches this year. When the Walks came by the farm and saw him they were amazed. As Heath Walk said you can not appreciate him until you see him in person. Just think we could have two deer on the same farm go over 500 inches. What's his pedigree?

Second up is Gold Dust: He scored 328 inches as a 2 year old. He is 3 years old now and WILL go deep into 400 inches this year. What's his pedigree?

Third up is Level King (dead now) He scored 287 as a 2 year old with a 222 inch main frame. How big is that for a 2 year old? He died a week ago and was roughed scored at 436 1/2 as a 3 year old. What's his pedigree?

Fourth up is Geyser: He is a big fairly clean typical buck that will score in the low 300 inches. What's his pedigree?

Now we have HUGO the huge typical buck in the photos. He may well have one of the largest main frames of any deer alive today. Won't know that until he is measured and scored. What's his pedigree? Dane/Domino Line

The point I want to make is they don't have the big name high powered pedigrees behind them. They just have good pedigrees, not great, just good. But they do have GREAT antlers. We have become so inebriated with pedigrees that I think we have forgotten where we started. These bucks mostly carry old school foundation bloodlines. Thunder, ThunderStorm,Sundance,Savage,PA Geronimo,Redoy,SilverHawk,Patrick 110 & 111,Level, Magnum & Boomer. I don't think a better set of papers could make these deer any more impressive than they already are. I have said before they knocked X-Factor's pedigree until he hit 500 inches then that silenced his critics. Just think what he might have scored if he would have had a super pedigree? LOL

Pdaddy thanks i do not have a pic of him but captain tonto is for sale he is out of a towcow captain doe breed to dream tonto
