What is this ?

Is it hard or does it have fluid in it? If its fluid, it will drain, or just go away. If its hard she may need some antibiotics.

It moves around when she walks , so it appears to be full of fluid. We went

ahead and gave her 2cc of baytril. Didn't really know what to do just hated

not to do anything...?

Thanks for the reply

Had one just like it last year. It started like that and didn't break out like most abscesses. We had felt it would break out by itself. It expanded along the right side between the ribs and skin. We lanced it and we got two gallons of green pus out of it. Gave it Draxin and a fuso Guard shot. If I ever see one like that again I will lance it and drain it.

I agree with Jack, get it lanced so that will drain. The antibiotics will help but it needs to drain. Good luck

P.S. If you are a good shot a dart might do the trick or if she is gentle enough you can just lance it

Possible snake bite? I agree with Jack also and would lance it. If it is a snake bite Dexamethasone will help. Good Luck

Got it drained this morning using an 18ga needle. it was mostly fluid and a little

blood mixed in. I spoke with the vet and he thought it was prob. caused when she tried to get through the fence (dogs .. we lost one and several others hurt) . he thought the

hyde tore inside and caused a fluid build. He called it some technical name i can't remember. But we went ahead and gave her antibiotics. I'll try and update in a few days.

thanks for all the help..
