Hi I have a 4 yr old breeder that was not bottle fed. He is very aggressive and I was wondering what people have used or tried to scare bucks away while feeding! Thanks for your time. JIM SIMONSON

we used bear spray and it worked excellent even on the bottle feds. Just dont over due it one puff upwind is all it takes after once or twice they will see the can and run.

An inexpensive paintball gun will get their attention! Had a friend who had a serious BAD BOY......................He froze a batch of paintballs and it broke his buck from being a "DOOR GREETER"!!!

put the troughs close to gate and good luck, the more you piss him off the worse he will get closer to rut = never trust them even if they are noy bottle fed

I had a neighbor that had deer for a while and he had a buck that was so mean that it would hit the fence to get you. The guy would stand beside a pen pole so he wouldn't hit the fence ...the buck knew this and would come up and put his head through the fence and if you got near enough he would bite you....like a mean dog. He would kill does and fawns in the fall so he finally shot it. Mean as I have seen. Jim

Tried the stick with a plastic bag on it and it works GREAT! we will see for how long! Thanks to everyone who gave me some ideas. He is a 4 yr old Auggie son out of a double P A doe. We cut him off and rough scored him @ 329 his name is AMMUNITION.

Do you have any semen out of ammunition?

Thanks

Jim,

We have a 4 year old bottle fed puppy dog tame while growing antlers. The first two years we use him for breeding no problems. We always cut antlers because of the warnings we have heard from experienced farmers. The third year we put him in the pen with does for breeding he became a mad dog. He would ram the fence when you stood by it and we did not dare go in except in the 3720 JD tractor. He even rammed the loader bucket once the third year he was breeding. This year, year four, we had one guy walk around the outside and he would follow leaving time for me to get in the pen and feed with the four wheeler and a trailer. I felt it was safe to use the four wheeler for protection if I needed. I tried once alone on the four wheeler and he rammed the front wheel hard enough to have his head go under the front fender. I had to call for help. When we got the guy on the outside he went to him and he led him away. He continually had ears laid back and hair bristle, charging the fence and scraping the ground when we were near the fence. It may be his last year. His attitude changes quickly after we move him out of the breeding pen into the pen with the other big bucks. He has about a 10 to 20 minute violent scurmish with any of the other bucks that care to take him on then he turns back into a normal animal. We still treat all of our hard horn, cut antler, bucks as "dangerous" for safety sake, but they are easy to shoo off with a bit of noise. With this nasty one in the breeder pen I doubt he will change back while in the breeder pen. He has never been violent even in hard, cut horn stage until we put him in with the does. He produced a 225+ two year old for us so we are not quit ready to send him down the road yet.

Jim, great looking buck you got there love his look. Ryan Rodenkirch

Yes we do like his look. We are waiting to see what his yearling buck look like and we should have a good idea of what he throws for we have 30 plus button bucks. He is like using sexed semen for we only got 5 does from him. Thanks for the kind words. JIM S

We like both his third year ( last year) and his 4 yr old rack. It will be exciting to see what he does at 5!

Thanks Alex Ammunition cleaned up alittle this year but I like the way he looks and also how he carrys it! How are your deer doing? Do you still have Amos's sister? JIM

If you do you should put some Ammunition in her!

I have had many requests on Ammunition's pedigree so here it is! Thanks JIM
