MY FIRST Delivery! Thank you Dennis of DD Whitetails

\Well we had our first baby! It was an intense day for sure, baby and mother are doing just fine. It was her first and orus too. Neither of us were ready.

Not sure what i would have done if Dennis had not amswered his phone this morning.He instructed me that i had to pull it out.....the head was out and one hoof, it showed no signs of life tongue hanging out, tried pulling with no luck. Finaly found the other hoof and pulled so hard i was dragging my doe backwards and finally it came out and was alive!



These pictures are from 5 minutes old to 6 hours...wow wht a progression.



2 year old momma weighs 65-70 lbs baby weighs 9 pounds!



Joe from Majestic whitetails was also a great help as always.

When i go check on the deer each morning and afternoon i actually see them talk to them give them cookies and spend time with them. When i work which is usually 3 to 5 days a week my wife goes up in the morning and hopes she doesnt see them and puts feed out. She;s scared of our buck.

On this particular "sunday" morning i go up and myself and the buck walk all over the pen calling for "jo jo" an d shes just not here? I go back in the building and she behind the planter where theres only about 18" of room laying down she stands up and i notice her legs were shaking and when she turned around i saw the problem. We were not even sure she was pregnant. The head was out , tongue hanging out eyes closed. She was backing up against the building and the 6x6 post and pushing her rear end against the 6x6 i guess because she was hurting. I came to the house and called joe from majestic whitetails and he wouldnt answer. I called a menonite in guthrie ky who raises deer and it being sunday he would not answer. So i thought i remebered a guy on this site who had helped me a year or so ago. I went to my private messages that i had not deleted and there it was(dennis). I called he answered and told me what to do.I went back to the building wearing my surgical gloves and the head was still out and one hoof. He had told me to find the other and grab them both and pull. I couldnt find it and assumed it was already dead. Sat down feeling sorry for the doe and baby and then heard the fawn cry. So i went back and found the other leg which was above its head and pulled..pulled and pulled dragging the 65 pound mother backwards in the gravel...still wroking in the 18" area behind the planter. Then all of a sudden she came out!!!!!!!!!!

My first and shes a real cutie!
