Paden Creek Whitetails Red 3

My wife had a doctors appointment, therefore I was watching my two younger *****.  So while Dora was on the TV,  I began to do my regular web surfing beginning with Deer and Wildlife Stories, which lead to looking up various farm's websites, pictures of bucks, etc.  Then I looked up some of my bucks pics and I was shocked.  As many of you well know, you see your buck everyday in the winter but once the antlers are cut, you forget how impressive they were, or are.  Well, I have a yearling buck out of a Rigid Doe we call Brigid.  She was bred to Big Heavy, a pure Flees buck from Mountain Ridge Whitetails.  She produced two huge yearlings for me.  I thought I'd share one of the pics that shocked me today when I saw it again  for the like the 100th time.


 


Hopefully, this is what some of you are looking for in your breeding program.  I'm going to make sure he grows out huge at 2 as I expect him to do, then sell a very limited amount of semen and maybe a live breeding or two.  Let me know if you are interested.  Of course, I will be listing anything I am selling in the classifieds on this site when the time comes.

Well, a lot has happened at Paden Creek Whitetails LLC. since January 30th of this year.  We performed Lap AI on two of my best does and had mixed results.  My best doe, Brigid, missed with Gladiator XL, which was really tough to deal with.  However, the other doe gave me two buck fawns from Dakota Doublewide, one of the industries best looking deer, in my opinion. 


 


After AI season, I began to watch my twin 2 year old bucks grow, and grow they did!  It was very exciting to go out in the pens and notice growth each day in July.  Even now they are still growing on the end of their tines.  My largest buck Red 3, who I am naming Lake Effect, has WTF.  Great WIDTH, TINE length, and great FRAME.  What did you think I meant by WTF? However, his most appealing feature is just an unexplainable, beautiful "Look".  He has all the qualities and attributes I think of when I picture a great Whitetail.  His brother is higher and more typical but has slightly less width.  What's with the name Lake Effect you might wonder?  Well, for those of you that aren't familiar with Pennsylvania, there is a part in the extreme Northwest Corner referred to as the snow belt.  That's where I live!  I'm about a mile and a half from Ohio and just south of Erie County.  In the winter, we get "Lake Effect" snow from Lake Erie that measures in the feet, not inches.  The good part of that is there are fewer insects in the summer due to the extreme cold winters.  While I'm on geography, I'm located about the farthest I could be from any area where CWD has been found in PA.


 


More recently, I got a big surprise.   Today is my birthday and I pretty much got a birthday surprise when I went out to my pen a couple of days ago to find a newborn doe fawn from Lake Effect's Full Sister.  I hope she can withstand our harsh winter.  Any advice is welcome.  I plan on weaning her early so momma can prepare to be bred at the normal time this year.  Well, I guess that's it, so now I'll post a few pics.

I guess I didn't explain the pedigree very good did I?  This buck is out of MRW Big Heavy (see Whitetailquest.com for full pedigree of big heavy), which as his you might expect by his name, is a pure Flees buck out of Big Guy and and a Flees Heavy Doe. 


 


The bottom side is my doe Brigid (NADR DNA # 157942).  Her sire is Rigid, sire to former world record, Big Rig.  Brigid's bottom side is White 13, a Blazer Doe.  The bottom of White 13 is a Pepsi Doe, and the bottom of the Pepsi Doe is a Miller Doe.

Thanks for the encouraging words Matt, I was a little worried.  It's almost like she knows she has to make up for lost time because she is the biggest, loudest, and most active fawn I've ever had.
