Mike. Excellent choice to make the purchase. I bought mine in July, and I can't say enough good things about him. He has been with my bottlefeds since I bought him. I have introduced him a little to each pen so far. He has no desire to chase deer, so when he's put with them the deer naturally are curious what the big white thing is in the pen and the proceed to sniff him. It does not take the deer long to adjust. Bennett barks at raccoons, cats, other deer, pretty much anything sneaking around the outside of the pen. Once time back in September he started barking at 4 am and wouldn't stop, he was getting me angry, lol. So I went out at daybreak and found 2 of my 200" stockers stuck in an alleyway and panicking because they tore down a section of fence during the night and got themselves stuck in the alley, Bennett was trying to tell me sooner, but I was lazy and ignored his efforts. I currently have him patrolling the outside of all the pens all night. He makes me feel so secure, but I am going to do as Jonathan suggested and put him with the bucks.
He sure loves this November weather. The cooler the better, lol.
So buy with confidence Mike, I doubt you'll have a single regret. They are great watchdogs, but still very sweet toward people and children, my one year old niece loves to play with Bennett.
