Thanks Eldon. My pens are small so he didn't have to wear himself out too much.

As of today,he still has his antlers. What's the status of your buck's antlers?

Wow looks good. Are you going to put those antlers on a mount when they come off? 7 of my 10 are shed out. In fact I am mounting a set of sheds this morning. That's the benefit of doing my own mounts, I can do as many as I want with minimal costs, lol. Let me know if you ever want those sheds mounted and you don't already have a taxidermist, I usually have extra capes and I will do it for you cheap, since your a fellow PA deer farmer, lol.

Matt,

Wow, none of mine shed yet.  I was thinking about mounting them.  I sold a doe to a local farmer / taxidermist and he mentioned he would do it because I sold him the doe fawn for a good price.  I don't know if he's ever done one from a set of sheds before though.

If it goes like years past. Our mule deer will shed in late march and our whitetails in early April. The only exception is stockers we buy from other farms here in Minnesota usually shed much earlier.

Yeah, it's snowing like crazy and tonight it's going to be -15 with wind chills -25.  My Great Pyrenees just lays in the snow and sleeps like it's a summer day!  The deer don't really seem affected with the exception that they stay pretty much stationary all day.

It will be at least 2 months until I'm working on food plots, unless I frost seed the pens in March.

I know what you mean, my pyreneese enjoys the negative temperatures. He has a dog bed on our front porch, but prefers to lay in the snow and ice on the back porch.

This weather is getting old. The only good thing is they are no eating much.

Yeah Zane but unfortunately the starlings are now eating more than the deer! I shot 9 of them yesterday but that's a drop in the bucket. I took my feeders down and I'm just feeding them the amount they can eat during the night.
