Top 30 Prices

looks like 3,750.

No that's wrong.  I was watching...just missed that one.  Danger went for $24,000, Cardiac Kid for $8,000, Bucky for $4,000.  They were up by $10,000 the last time I saw on the Sudden Impact straw and when I came back they had sold it and they didn't enter into the results anywhere.

says $3750 on the auction....i'll post today when its over

Yep I'm watching the auction.  That's wrong.  They sold those all individually and Maxbo XL was out.  They sold Danger first for $24,000.  Then Sudden Impact and I missed the total.  Then Cardiac kid for $8,000 and they had two straws...both went for $8,000.  Then Bucky for $4,000.  I missed 2 seconds of the sale today and that was it...when they said the final bid on Sudden Impact.

I just asked the auction online and they said they think it was $10,000.  That's where it was the last I heard...then I missed the final SOLD call...so if it's not 10K it's very close to that.

Wonder why the 3750 on the result side?

They messed up a couple in that batch. His third lot (17-3) was 5500 and they have 3500 or something. Not sure what happened there...or how they got 3750 since lowest one was Bucky at 4000.

I have a stupid question, I'm following the results because i find it very interesting. does the c stand for consignor? thanks!

Hard to believe people are still paying those kind of prices for semen or deer.  We really don't follow breeding prices that much but am surprised.

those prices look about like the first Chupp sale we went to in 2010 or less.  As I recall top 30 prices were a lot higher.

Have you ever watched kids playing musical chairs? When the music stops playing someone is left standing. That is the breeder market. Years ago a person had confidence the music was going to keep playing for an extended amount of time. Investing higher dollars made sense provided you followed up your purchase with good breeding and business sense. These days the chorus is pretty much done and the lights on the dance floor are dimming fast. Someone is selling the Texas guys a line of crap to get them to buy into the hype. The rich guys I don't worry about, but what sucks is the little guys who are sucked into it trying to compete.

I dont know Roger, It seems those Texas guys are doing so well in their state that they are now buying farms and dealing in other states. I know i was talking to a dealer in Texas and he could offer me twice as much for my shooters in Texas than i could get anywhere else. Must be nice to have a state that works with ya instead of against.

I believe all in all the Top 30 prices were down all around. There were some great deer that didnt bring a pile of money. Seemed like Xl daughters were on the low end but there were also a few of them offered. Either way i guess its still better than raising goats. lol
