Fawns 2015

I will throw my hat in the ring on this thread... Always fun to see fawn crosses. They are the cutting edge genetics of our industry. We had a buck and a doe in the combo listed. It is Big Red/Fearful. To appreciate the cross I have attached a pedigree link.

I will throw a claim out here that I do not know to be fact but will be interesting for others to see how there genetics stack up!


 


I believe these fawns to be some the deepest bred animals in the industry as far as putting one animal in the pedigree over and over. This combo has the famous Patrick 111 doe in it...15 times. To cool!

That pedigree is nuts Josh,your sittin on a couple time bombs!!!

I started building that pedigree in 2008... It has taken some time. The cool thing for everyone to think about is as we get animals deeper and deeper bred like this, the numbers of certain animals in pedigrees grow exponentially. If all goes well by 2017 I hope to have animals being born with certain animals in the pedigree over 30 times...Just dreaming!

Thanks Travis, we are not getting much doe fawns this year so far, we have a total of 16 wild Core fawns 11 Bucks and 5 doe fawns this was not sexed semen some of them were Ai'd with Conventional and others were live bred we have five more does to fawn, Three of the doe Fawns are already spoken for so i'm not sure how many more i want to sell

We had twins 2 weeks ago today, Buck (red 1) and a Doe (yellow 1) out of Bone Collector XL/King Kong/Maxbo Xtreme. And tonight we got a Buck Fawn (red 2) out of Bad Influence/Bone Collector XL/ Rolex. Considering this is our first fawning season, I think we are off to an alright start. We only have 5 does to fawn this year, I am happy with what we have so far.

Very exciting seeing all of the great crosses that are coming through across the country!

Last fall there were 4 adult does with our breeder buck Ruben. The count finished last night with 8 buck fawns and 1 doe fawn. I really like a buck that throws that kind of ratio.

If there is enough interest in semen that can be used to do cervical AI with I would consider collecting him. That gives folks the option of increasing your buck ratio without the added cost and risk of doing Lap AI to use sexed semen. If your interested let me know so I can see if it pays to collect him or not.
