hello I tried to find this answer here I may have missed it. I was just wanting to know what kind of odds will it be of a 1.5 bred doe having 2 fawns when she gives birth? thanks:confused:

Hi,

This does not answer your question, but I was wondering the same on a year old.

Provided she is an average size yearling, chances are she will have two, more so than one. I don't breed a lot of deer, but I have never had a single fawn with my first time mothers (1.5 year olds), its always two.

I'm probably not the one to answer this but I had two 1-1/2 year olds I AI'd last year the one that took to AI had two buck fawns the one that did not take to AI had a single doe fawn for my buck.

Remi, to answer your question, over the years I have averaged about 1 out of every 3 of my doe fawns will have their own fawns by the time they are 1 year old, it is always a single, but I am sure on very rare occasions they can have two.

Remi the last 2 yearlings we have bred had 1 fawn but I have heard that sometimes 2 so ? but hope you have 2.

we got a bred 4yr old doe a bred 5yr old and the bred 1.5yr old doe was just asking to see if anyone thought since the 1.5 was a little older then a yearling that maybe it would have 2. thanks 2 all.

Thank you. I hope that your question got answered. I read that the 1st pregnancy was just one fawn. This is very interesting. Best of luck to you!

Wow, that is very interesting. I will try to let you know what she has. How many are you expecting this time?

If a doe is 1 1/2 when she is bred, she should have twins. We do not breed our fawns and when they are bred at 1 1/2 they pretty much always have twins. We've even had one give us 3 healthy ones.

thanks yes 1.5 when she was bred. hope to get 2 from her would be nice. we got her and 2 other older does that were bred. the rest of the does were bred with 2 other bucks on the farm and hopfully they did their duty. thanks to all and good luck this year.
