the little man has the scours. keep him away from the grass and starts clearing up. problem is keeping him off the grass means i cant let him out to run and get his exercise. what can we give him to help clear this up?

or better? of all the post ive read on this subject which one will clear this up the fastest?

THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP

What do the scours look/smell like? Any blood present? Give fluids, keep him hydrated.

dark green and runny like a cow on new spring grass

smells like crap:)

no blood that we can tell

If he's a bottle fed ? I would give him Albon 2cc day one 1 1/2 cc day 2 then 1cc day 3 and 1/2 cc day 4...................DO NOT STOP Treatment till You have done the full go round!

Just What I would DO !!!

Yup, what Mr. Scott said. Give some probiotics as well to add good bacteria back into the rumen.

Coccidia, high dose of Albon for 7 days. I have success and been recommended by vets/deer specialists to do 5cc per 20lb for three days and then if it starts to change back to normal-ish u can finish out with 3cc the following four days. With Albon you are actually able to give 21 days straight if need be, and should be given 2-3 days after poop has returned to normal. I would be running fluids, giving sugar and probiotics regularly. Need to keep the energy level high in the little ones. Symptoms of e.coli that i have seen are a "white poop" which is actually the shedding of intestinal cells. Fluids again, excede, baytril, and probiotics are needed for this battle. Both of which are not easy to fend off, and when you think its gone treat again.

Well Mike, I would Stop the Milk and start the Fawn on a Product from Sav-A-Calf about $1.45 a Pak called Electrolytes Plus and give Baytril as well as some Probiotic Paste we use a paste called Achieve with cryptex and is for Lambs and kids (baby Goats) about $2.65 a Tube! You can get it ALL at any Farm Supply Store and If you have fawns Every Year you need to have on hand EVERY year!

"JUST WHAT I WOULD DO"

Best Of Luck with everyones Fawns!
