allergies?

I have a 2 1/2 yr old bottle fed doe who is about to pop. She is wide on all sides...... Anyways, I've noticed over the last two days that her nose is running a little (clear). Her breathing seems a little labored as well. She and some of the others have also accumulated a little eye gunk. No swollen eyes or anything like that. My question is, do you think that its just allergies or is she coming down with a cold? We have had a crazy spring and all of the trees have pollinated at once. There are a lot of trees in the pens and pollen on the ground. I've been putting aueromycin crumbles in the feed for about 5 days now to help with stress. Should I hit her with a couple cc(s) of Draxin or LA200 or should I just let it run its course? Don't get me wrong, her body language is not telling me that she is on her death bed and Her labored breathing may be due to the fact that her torso is running out of room. Thanks for any advice.

as long as she is acting fine and eating I would just keep a close eye on her

some of ours will get a little of that in the eyes and nose in the spring and it goes away on its own.

its hot and a lot of them still have half their winter hair.

Mulberry, I know exactly what your talking about. I have had does and bucks do this in spring, and on occasion in late fall. I always get a couple "coughers" and sneezers and ones with runny noses and/or eye gunk. I have come to the conclusion that deer can get allergies just like you or I can. It seems to peak in the spring bloom, and the fall ragweed seasons. Granted deer are much more immune then humans, but our breeder pen deer are spoiled and tend to be "lazier" than their wild cousins, their lungs for the most part are not worked as hard, so therefore it's more likely a pen deer can get allergies than a wild one.

As far as treatment, I do nothing. I let nature run it course. The worst of the pollin season will pass and she'll start to get some relief.
