24px TENNESSEE ELK COOPERATIVE

18px If you’re interested in being part of a co-op that pays top dollar for your elk products, send an email to (0,0,255)[email protected] giving the following information about your current elk herd.

18px Herd Owner’s Name, Address, Email Address and Phone Number

18px Specify what state the herd is located in and the current size of your herd.

18px Specify the current status of your herd, TB, Brucellosis, & CWD Monitoring.

18px Specify that your herd is located in a state that allows elk to be imported. Herds located in a state that does not allow importation of elk will not be considered for this co-op.

18px Give an estimated distance from your herd location to Nashville TN.

18px Since location of the herd is a factor, herds in TN will be given first preference and herds in states bordering TN will be second in line. Herds in states not bordering TN will also be considered on a first come first serve basis depending on the local interest.

18px Just to give you an idea on prices, Meat $5.00 per pound on carcasses weighing 55% or more of their live weight, Velvet Antler $40.00 per pound and Hard Antler $12.00 per pound.

18px No Phone Calls! Emails only.

Currently, the TN Elk Cooperative is full and not accepting new contracts at this time. The current contracts are meeting the demand, for meat and antler, at this time.

We just picked up another buyer so we have another opening in the TN Elk Cooperative. If you're interested, see the first post above and then reply by email with all the information requested.

Just for clarification:

1. TN Elk Cooperative (TEC) only makes contracts directly with the producer and does not make contracts with middle men that want to buy from the producers and then resell the product. It appears at least one of these middle men velvet antler buyers is upset because he cannot buy antler at 25 or 30 dollars per pound, from the producers, and then resell to the cooperative for $40.00 per pound. Producers have not been receiving a fair price for their products and TEC is working to change that.

2. TN Elk Cooperative only makes contracts with producers that live in a state that has open borders and allows elk to be imported into their state. If your state has closed borders, you need to be working on getting your borders open for free trade. In the past, some of the larger producers worked behind the scenes to help close their state borders to eliminate most of their competition which was producers in other states. This was a very greedy and selfish act, on their part, and they can't have it both ways as far as TEC is concerned.

3. Once again, TEC is full and not accepting new contracts. The current contracts are meeting the demand at this time. As TEC picks up additional buyers, new contracts from producers will be accepted. These contracts are only for one year from the date of acceptance. You are not locking yourself into an agreement longer than 1 year. At the end of the year, you will have the option to sign back up at whatever the current market prices are at that time.

4. TEC's goal is to get producers a fair price for their product and promote this industry.
