Yes, I found the yearling he is very nice. I bred her to Noble last year. She had a doe and buck fawn.

Her buck fawn is auctually the biggest bodied buck fawn I have and he already has big knots on his head this early. Maybe thats a good sign. I hope!!

Introducing Moonshine our Energizer yearling. As of right now he's showing a beautiful 6x5 picket fence frame with a really nice out-rigger on his undamaged antler and has a very similar look to his father as a yearling. He's estimated at 170"+ as he sits, but may have been 190"+ with two good sides. He's got big bases and a great look with those little extras that really grab your attention. His pedigree is very proven, so it shouldn't be a struggle for this guy to keep upping the ante every season. His mother is an Eclipse daughter, also the mother to Red Ridge's PA Eclipse 196" @ 1. Luna is a daughter of Walks Savage/Tami doe who is the mother of Willy Swarey's Knockout 270"+ and Mark Sipes' Outer Limit 240"+. It's no fluke this boy is the way he is and should pass down his desirable genetics with consistency.

He will be a live breeding option for our does entered in the PA Sale in September and should compliment either of them very nicely. Limited amounts of semen will also be available on him so if you can't find or afford Energizer, this guy is your next best option!

I would like to see a little more tine length and about 6 to 8 inches wider if i was to use him for a breeder.lol Its about time you took him out of the closet for us all to see. He's gunna be a good one!!!!!

Thanks again Mike! I think his tines are roughly 10-11" and his inside spread might be 16-17". Again he's not the biggest yearling in the world but man is he a pretty deer. I love when you look at a deer from the front and only see one tine down the beam, then he turns his head and you realize he's a 6x. Gotta love the picket fences! The most encouraging thing about him is that his bases are almost twice as heavy as his actual beam mass is, which means he should have one heck of a foundation to start growing off for next year. He's a really nice buck to invest in considering that there aren't many Energizer sons out there, let alone as typical as this guy is.

Bruce, once again you did it again. Keep up the good work you surly know how to breed em.big. your yearling look awsome. congrats !

Dustin, what a yearling ya have there. Awsoem tine length. Keep up the good work buddy!

[quote name='Buzz Kerrigan']Jim Moses at Dakota asked me to post this 2 yr old with his yearling picture... what a difference, eh? Here's a perfect example why yearling headgear isn't always a mini-version of the deer to come. This buck, W41, had so much stuff growing every-which-where, he was coined with the nickname of "Christmas" for the Christmas tree he resembled. I think Dakota can now official change this guy's name to BAD SANTA !

Per Jim: Thanks, Michael, for the super visit... Texas Tea is ALL THAT!

Chris - Tombstone has to be one of the best looking yearlings out there this year.... Congrats!

Thanks Buzz, and thanks to Jim for taking the time to stop by and visit our farm. He's a pro at breeding animals, and we are very pleased that he will be using Texas Tea on the farm this fall.

I'll also second your comment about Tombstone... he's a hammer!

Thanks Buzz, we are very proud of him. He was born here last year and seems to be adapting very well to this heat. His health is great right now, Knock on wood. Thanks again.
