birth time

Watching our does at Browning Whitetails I typically watch them have one then I have seen anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes in between the fawns. I haven't seen any on our farm go any longer than 40 minutes in between the fawns. Seems once the first one comes they turn around and clean on it for a while then after a little bit you will see them start pushing with contractions again.

Jonathan is exactly right .....However, I have heard from others that there doe went 6 hours between fawns.......so you just never know.......but usually it goes just how Jonathan explained above!!

the only time i wintness twin at my place, there was an hour between the first and second

seen a doe have fawns 15+ hrs apart , saw her have one at 5 pm checking the pens the next morning at 8.30 am having the second one no problems both were healthy

Ok your winning so far Randy....I knew we would get some good info out of this thread......this is good to know.......keep them coming!

Wow seeing some of these responses is crazy. I didn't know that thaey could go that long while in labor. Was one of the fawns really big that they may have had trouble or both normal sizes. Good info makes ya want to check again every 12 hours. We had one this year that had about 45 minutes apart and that has been our longest. We have a live web camera in our pens which we can control from home and we watch them have there fawns undisturbed. This year on 5-08-2010 we watched 5 does fawn throughout the day with a total of eleven fawns on that day alone the camera really helps when you might have more than one doe fawn just so you can keep an undisturbed eye on them and helps not mix up the babies after birth. I had a doe that was really big she had 1 small fawn yesterday at 3:30pm then nothing. She is still pretty big and looks looks like she is still carrying something never had this happen before. Is it possible she is still carrying a fawn and how long is the longest time anyone has heard of in between births. I had someone tell me they had fawns 3 days apart out of same doe just wondering if anyone else ever heard of such thing.

My buddy had one that was born and a week later she had another one. I told him to lay off the mushrooms but he saw them both born and they DNA's out. I still thought something was fishy until 09'. I had a doe that I watched fawn a set of twins. 2 weeks later I watched the same doe have a single buck fawn. It done great 4 about a week and died. Never dawned on me that she didn't have colostrum. Thats when I started giving all my fawns a colostrum supplement at birth. I bought that doe from Craig Crystal so you had to figure she was strange in some way. Ha.
