blood in urine???

Went out to check on the deer this morning and in the doe pen(5 of them) and noticed 3 or 4 different spots where there is blood in urine. Not sure which one it is as they all seem to be acting normal and eating. What could this be from? And once I find out which one it is, is there anything specific on what meds I should give? Thanks a bunch!!!

Are U sure that it is blood? I see dark orange spots in the snow from them urinating all the time. Im not sure why but am sure that its not blood.

What I've noticed in my ONE and only deer is that when I give her a larger than usual amount of Purina sweet feed (has molasses) on top of her Deer Chow, her urine is more concentrated and dark. When she eats less feed, and mostly fresh veggies, her urine is very light in color. She has no signs of infection or parasites (have done 2 fecal tests recently). I think the urine is darker (burnt orange-colored) either because: 1) she is drinking less water, or 2) she is eating more Sweet feed than usual.

Thanks for the posts. I am almost positive its blood. I know the burnt color your talking about. But this is. Definitely a brighter red color in the snow. I still haven't pin pointed which one it is. They all seem normal. So confused.

I had a doe do this last spring, I would find what looked like a lot of blood in the urine for a few day's. I never did find out what animal it was from. They all looked and acted fine. No idea of what the cause was, they are all fine today.

Is she bred. Like humans and most other animals that are pregnant do, I'm sure spotting can occure from time to time.

Yeah she was bred for her first time. I was thinking/hoping the same thing with spotting. Seemed like alot of blood per spot but I am sure it doesn't take alot of blood to stain the urine. Guess we will keep a close eye on them and see if it continues or stops. Thanks guys!

My doe that did this last year left what looked like a lot of blood, I found blood off and on for about a week and then it stoped.

I think there is a chance that a doe may be in heat. A couple weeks ago I found some blood drops on the snow and couldn't figure out where it was from. It wasn't bright red blood, but orange/light red and watery. Two days later the buck was on her.

Mark this on the calendar, you may have fawns the middle of August.
