I'm putting in cidrs next week and am curious if I should cidr and breed doe fawns or is it a waste of time and money.

Isaac, I would wait a year! But if you do in my opinion................I would not cidr till first week of December. That would be a more natural time frame for a fawn to come into a cycle.

Best of Luck..............Those Cowboy yearlings looked GOOD this year!

We stuck a buck fawn in with our doe fawns last year and no body got bred.... Waiting a year is best.

I had a doe fawn get bred at 7 months old by my yearling buck last season and gave birth but she abandoned it after she cleaned it up. We are bottle feeding it now about to wean it in the next week at nine weeks old. She is a little rambuchus house pet. Keep that in mind that if u don't want to bottle feed stay away from fawns my thinking.

My husband and I are new as of May 2012 to the deer farming. Bottle fed our first doe fawn and purchased a buck fawn 5 weeks later and bottle fed also.

No life for months but very challenging. Our doe fawn got very sick at 4 months of age,we are pretty sure it was pneumonia but can't be sure. We lost her. Hardest thing in the world!! was like losing a child. Purchased 2 more doe fawns so buck wouldn't be alone. All 3 deer were born in June. He has pretty big buttons but never came through. I guess what I am Getting at is Christmas morning he was giving one of the does her Christmas gift. LOL Will he be able to breed her even though he doesn't have hard antlers? She was definitely  in heat.
