Bright red blood on fawn

Any ideas of why a buck fawn on the doe would have bright red blood coming from his butt? No runny poop....just blood.



He is very sick and sure he is going to die, but just want some ideas as to what it could be.



We are going to have a necropsy done when he dies. This is something that I have not seen yet.

The buck fawn is on his mother. There are no signs of poop on his buck, in fact his butt was clean yesterday. Bright red blood all over it today....no poop.

He's dead...going to send him in.



To me, it was same symptoms as coccidia with out the runs. He was skinny, in the body and face, lethargic, cold, wobbly. You could walk right up to him....same as last year. Only thing different, was the butt covered in bright red blood.



Last year, running poop all over is what we dealt with coccidia.



We have been so proactive on the coccicidia, I hate to think it is that. We have been doing maintenance treatments in the water since early May and have Bovatec in the feed yet. If it turns out to be coccidia, I give up! You can't beat it.
