approximately how long does it take to see the start of antler developement after a buck fawn lose his buttons?

I have 2 that lost thier buttons two weeks ago and are already 3 inches out with new growth. This is the fastest ive had, usually its a little longer. The rest are 1/2 to 1 inch so far

Man, I have bucks that lost there nubs three and four weeks ago and I do not see antler growth yet, maybe they are no good.

We have two that are up a couple inches of new growth and then there is one that has not knocked his 2 inches of hard horn off yet. They are all different and remember it does not really matter where they start...just the end!!!!

Cassie, you didn't get deer from DJD Whitetails by chance did ya? Sorry to say if you did you are probly right they are just junk! If you got them any where else I think you will be alright.

Real nice Virgil.............at least mine are Whitetails and not GOATS! Virgil you might be ok now that you finally got smart and put some of my does on your farm!!

You go Matt!!!!

Hey, great seeing you the other week at the auction, maybe this year I can get up for some photos.

both my buck fawns have lost one nub each a few weeks ago..i tug on the others trying to knock them off each night but they just wont fall off...no new growth yet...

cassie - Four seasons is right...some will start early and finish before others...don't get discouraged b/c someone else's fawns are already growing and yours aren't!!

Most this time of year are just losing their nubs. This is the first time one has shot up quick but that doesnt mean much. Like the others said its how they finish. Ive been trying to get a picture but he hasnt been cooperating with all the snow and cold weather again. Good luck everyone! I cant wait for ANTLERS!

Henry: Glad to see you too. Rod Miller and I are headed out tomorrow for Indiana. See you guys there

Matt

Thanks Guys, I know it sounded like it, but I`m not discouraged. I think I have some pretty interesting combination on my buck fawns.

3 of them are Jerome Patrick / Flip doe

2 of them are Redline / Doc/Moose doe

1 of them are Roll on Ace/ Buck Harley doe

1 of them are Lee Fritz`s Gone Alone / Ridgeking doe

Just cant wait to see some horns. Actually one of the Redline fawns are starting to grow looks like big horns to.
