Im a new farmer here in Kentucky. I have 3 bucks and 4 does. I had to run all my deer together for some time and about 2 months ago or 3 I separated my bucks and started trying to feed them a higher protein feed. my doe feed is 16%. I started mixing record rack deer and elk feed 20% into my doe feed and then adding the After Shock suppliments. They didn't eat it.
So I moved on to Westbrooks monster mix 18% protein pellet, they didn't eat it... finally I put them back on the doe feed 16% protein, with the After Shock suppliments, and they barely eat it, but they do some.

this whole time, they are eating the fire out of my Alphalfa hay!!
whats yalls input on this??
Thanks

Change feed slowly...mix old feed with new slowly, they will eat it. then switch over completely. It is that time of year, bucks are just now starting to pound the feed here, they were not eating much when laying around doing nothing, now antlers growing and they are back to eating.... But, we always mix new feed and old about 25% new, 75% old for a few days, then 50 / 50 and so on to get to 100% new. They will eat, not going to starve themselves to death, they are just Picky. Lol
