Exactly, everyone's idea of the perfect deer is different. Hunters don't come back year after year to shoot the same thing. You need a variety out there. Oftentimes they don't know what they want until they see it.

I want to raise huge typical bucks. What I have found out is the price goes off of total inches. It seams that there needs to be 2 different price sheets 1 for typical and 1 for non-typical so that we can raise either one and get paid for what we raise. People give good money for shooters it's just if you raise 200" pure typical it should bring more then a 200" non typical cause they are harder to come by.

Tom........the preserves price their animals by inches....this is how it has worked for years.......with all due respect....I don't see it changing ever........I hear your frustration but it is what it is.......

I think there already is an "unofficial" price difference going on at many preserves across the country. Many of them can definitely get more for a huge 200" 6x6 with a wide spread and mostly typical vs. a 200" 15" spread buck with a 120" mainframe. The 200" 6x6 will look 2 - 3 times bigger and more impressive to "most" hunters... not saying all, but most for sure.

man that's good to hear cause I haven't heard anything like that and I raise big typical bucks.

There is no doubt these preserve owners know who the big tippers are and who they will save certain bucks for. I'm sure there is also guys who will sell a narrow 200" for less just because they know it's value is just that, less. Chances are they bought the deer for less then the big framed ones also. I'd think if you have a pen full of shooter bucks that look like Tea, you'll have no problem selling them and for pretty good money also. You still have to have good enough genetics to push them over the 200" mark by 2 and 3 at the most otherwise you'll be lucky to break even.

I'm glad to hear all the good commits about getting good money for big clean bucks cause that's what we have
