If I am not mistaken, I believe they originally closed the borders to keep cwd out.? I wonder if they will open the borders now. Lol, probably not... But sooner or later it will be found in every state as long as they are looking for it. Maybe then all borders will be open like they should be now.

I think It worked really good for the Texans raising and selling their hunt bucks for a premium every year while the others had a surplus. Suppose now the borders will open up??? I'm betting not!!

Double fencing isn't the answer if it can move via plants and other animals. Maybe some deer are just predisposed to it, like people with cancer. Cancer isn't contagious so why do some people get it??? Yes, the whole argument about closing borders to keep out CWD was bogus from the beginning and everyone knew it. In Texas they can release deer into the wild, so if this farm did that trace backs will be impossible. The same for any farm that bought deer from them if they have turned them out.
Wisconsin dealt with this 13 years ago, so Texas is just catching up to us now.
