I have seen these for years doing taxidermy, what are they?

When a head is put in a bag and frozen sometimes theres as many as 50 of these things dead in the bag.

im in western ky if that makes a difference.

Also can we use a flea and tick shampoo on our deer without hurting them?

My yearling buck is quite the pet!

Found seceral of these on him while brushing him after wetting him down with the hose...they are as hard to kill as a tick and about the same size just shaped a little different!

thanks

Looks nothing like our ticks, the ked thing sounds about right, not sure what a lice looks like?

Would tick and flea shampoo take care of them?

Yep after a quick google look around its definltly a "ked".

My deer hate permethrin...take off running when they see me with it, however they would gladly let me give them a good soaping and hose down along with some stiff brushing....

Just need to know if a good flea and tick bath product would be safe and effective? After doing a little reserch looks like anything would need to be repeated after a few days.

thanks

They are pretty easy to kill. I would try a tick & flee product or seven dust if they'll stand for it. My rubs going to my water troughs keep them off of my deer. It is Ultra Boss (permethrin & pbo) with diesel fuel.
