What are some of you doing to control Canadian Thistle in your pens? I have sprayed them, dug them up which was a mistake. I reseeded the pen with the biggest problem. Now they are worse than ever. Any sugestions ?

Corn Knife and cut em off at the ground.................Spray the exsposed stem with Round Up in a pump up sprayer.

if you can take all the deer out of the pen there are herbicides that will trans-locate to the tap root and kill them but you have to not graze for usually 60 days

There is a product made by Dow I believe, called Stinger. It will kill them dead.

Thanks for the reply guys, I will have to spot spray with these as all of them also kill clover and chicory that I have planted. I sprayed roundup and a product called Crossbow, let set 3 weeks before tilling up. i went out last weekend and spot sprayed with a 50/50 mixture of crossbow and water, went out Friday Night and looked like I sprayed fertilizer instead of herbicide.

I have been fighting this for a long time, and don't seem to gain on them at all. Thanks again.
