Hi everyone! Happy Memorial Day!

I have a baby born Aug 8th or 13th. 2014. He does not eat a bunch but does eat a few oz each time.

It seems, when stimulated, he wants to go but does not. He is not staining. And he sucks on my ear and talks to me. I put the bottle up to him, he stops. Then he starts Chewing on my finger like a dog on a bone or a child teething. I also have a yearling that chews on my fingers, that one really hurts. She dates Great though.

Yesterday eve he did not poop, but the wipe I was using turned a slight pink. He also did pee very well. Searched the forums but did not quite find what I was looking for.

Anything I need to worry "more" about and what should I be doing?

Thank You so much!

I have doe the same age. Same thing, she stopped eating ..... But is doing great now. Had samples taken and checked out good and clean for everything.

Thank you again!

Does it have dirt available to eat? Corrid if his poop turns bloody. Clostridium C & D antitoxin shots are important for bottle feds.

Yes they have fresh dirt. And eat it very good. :). I had the poop tested vet said no parasites nothing. I thought it was clostridium. Should I go ahead and do the C & D? And do a booster a few weeks later?

Jerri Lee has told me before she thought a lot of the time bottle fed fawns have problems with clostridium. I would go ahead with the C&d shots. Also try squirting a little yogurt in its mouth and add some to its bottles.

Thank you. Do you happen to know about the chewing? I have a yearling doe that does the same thing on the chewing. Just grabs my fingers and starts chewing.

Chewing is ok. Grinding teeth is a sign of pain or low protein in the blood. I would give the fawn some lamb and kid paste from the farm store. Hopefully it hasn't had access to any strings or baling twine? Lumpy jaw will also make them chew and not swallow but I assume you would have mentioned that. The yearling doe probably likes the taste of the salt on your skin.

first thing I grab is the"""" c/d anitioxin""""" and a shot of""""" b complex/b12"""""

and this year I have used amoxi drops instead of sticking them(they love it, suck it out of the syringe)with antibiotics. also shock effect fawn past is the best or use any probiotic paste daily.

I will give 3cc antitoxin daily for about 3 days if I need to till they start eating better.  Sometimes it is immediate the next feeding.

I have not needed to give it near as much this year since I have  been putting pumpkin in milk "EVERY" feeding.
