Does anyone clean the pritchard nipples a special way or sterilize every so many days? After feedings we wash them in soap and hot water and let air dry but seems they are damp most the time and worried about bacteria growing if not steamed or boiled every so often. Didn't know if they would hold up since such soft latex? Thanks to any suggestions. Also what about the inner rings needing removed ever for better cleaning?

I rinse the bottles and nipples with hot water and put them in the dish washer to get cleaned.

It may be over kill but we clean our bottles with soap and water after every feeding. We wash out the nipples and then boil them. We also pour boiling water into each bottle and then put them on a bottle drying rack. So far it has worked for us. I might add that we discard the nipples after 12 weeks and start fresh with new nipples each year. The nipples have held up very good to the repeated boiling. We do an inspection of the nipples about every week and if we see any with signs of extreme wear we pitch them.We figure they don't cost that much and if a fawn breaks one off and swallows it You always wonders if it could hurt them. I must admit that I've been told that they will be fine if they do swallow one but I would just as soon not find out for myself. Rick

I always wash mine with hot water and dish soap. If you can find a thinner bottle brush to fit down the small bottle necks it works great also. Then rinse bottles and nipples in other side of the sink in cold water with bleach added then let drip dry upside down. The bleach will leave a thin covering inside bottles and nipples to prevent any bacteria growth

I soak mine in hot soapy water. Squeeze them good (in the soapy water) to make sure the hole is clear. Then rinse in hot water, squeezing the clean water through the hole. Then air dry on a rack until next feeding.

Off of the subject a little i used this nipple for the first time today and it seemed to leak out of the air hole alot am i just holding it to upright or is this normal until the fawns really take to sucking on the nipple?

I keep the hole at the top...

also they leak bad if you tighten them to much...another clue they don't fit some bottles well... Sprite is one that will leak.

Best of luck!!
