I have 3 deer 1 buck an 2 does . They all have been coughing like having there head at the ground an coughing . The 1 doe did stop the other day and i did not hear cough . I did she them eating there old hair could this be why they are coughing mybe hairballs in there belly ? Or could it be just a minor cold ? I felt there head and it was warm . Its been raining alot up here in southern pa. The last couple weeks . Also they are soon gona have babies any time soon is there anyway to tell exactly what day they will have them ? Also if they have them outside and its raining can i move them in the barn if so they will not reject the fawns will they i do not want to bottle feed them both does where bottle feed does an are tame to me because i bottle fed them as fawns . Please help me out i'm new to this .

No doubt,I would pull fawns and bottle them and get mom back to good health!!!Very well could be worms.Pull fawns worm all deer real good!Warm weather in the works for the next ten days so weather should not be an issue! If mom is sick she wont take good care of fawns i would say.Better safe than sorry!!!

No i did not worm them i was going to buy some safeguard pellet dewormer tomorrow do you know if tsc sells it ? Would dewormer kill the babies ? The 1 doe that stoped coughing looks like she could have them any day would the fawns have worms if mom has them ? There is no acorns . I looked at there stool it is dark black and not bloody or runs . I did just change feed because the feed i was getting was discontued . The feed there getting now is a green type pellet says 18% protein on it . Mybe this could be why i was going to go buy different feed to tomorrow . There is thistle weed in my pens that i weed whacked down the other day i'm digging them up and putting in deer salad seed . Does thistle weed do anything to them ? Is there any eye evidence that i can tell if they have worms . Would you see them in there stool ? Thanks both for your concerns . I am new to this all and been looking alot on here to help me along .

I think i would wait till they fawn now!!If they are tame you can use the pour on wormer and run it right down their back just like a dog.If not tame get some valbazen and mix it in their feed,it is a liquid so you will have to use the dosage and a little water and let it soak in real good and feed it to them. They might turn their nose up to it at first but they will eat it.I dont think the thistle is a problem with them!!

Lumber 2 sells an exotic dewormer from purina that should be ok for your does i just got through worming mine with it a couple of weeks ago

Yes the 2 does are tame . Why would you wait till they have fawns what will thw wormer do ?

i really did not want to bottle feed them will the dewormer mess with the moms milk supply ?

I just bought the safeguard dewormer pellet for cattle on the back it reads 0.2 lb per 200 body weight so that would be 4 0z. Of pellet per deer right ? I'm using a postal scale to do this the doe probable weighs 135 pounds is that measurement ok ? If you give them to much will it hurt them anyway? Please reply back asap thanks
