The weather in our area has been not quite the best for raising fawns lately. I brought a buck fawn in my house for a severe cough. He is doing better but I have heard of a few other farms that are now dealing with the cough. I used draxxin on my own fawn and he is in a controlled temp environment. I guess my question is what do others suggest to do about the coughs? My fawn does not have pnuemonia (at least doesn't appear to be), he breaths great then out of no where he will have a coughing fit. He is MUCH better now with only the occasional cough. I had several other farms call and tell me they had the same thing but they are still coughing and they also used Draxxin. Any thoughts on this? I would find it hard to believe it to be a break out of lung worms but anything is possible. This is the first year we have really had this kind of coughing.
Symptoms:
Fine when laying down breathing normal. When they get up they cough, sometimes hard. Then they are back to normal. No scours. Feeding normal also.
