darting momma does

We did so in an emergency with no problems ...BUT we were very lucky...The medicine didn't effect the fawn, but there are a lot of other things to consider the doe could die or abandon the fawn...ect...

If it is a situation you can wait I would wait till... if the mom dies you know the fawn will make it ...If one might die with out darting I would weigh the possibilities
