Moved 4 deer from another farm this past saturday . Have noticed they are not eating much at all if any yet is this normal ?

Jamie, if their feed is much different than yours, then yes, I would say it's normal. I always bring some of their old feed home to help them transition from the old to the new.

Agreed-I've never brought a deer onto the farm and had them eat much in the first few days, sometimes it could be a week or a little longer before they're accustomed to their new diet.

I did bring some feed from the farm they was at . They stay in the wooded area of the pen away from where i feed them at .

what i have found is they usually explore the environment first. Once they become comfortable with it then they come to feed. Not sure if it has to do with flight paths, ways to get away if there is trouble. But when they become comfortable they will find the feeder. And most of the times here we have found them nibbling at night first before full blown meals during the day. And its lasted about a week or so here as well and others only hours depending on how calm in nature the animal is.

Very normal especially since most are not eating much right now anyway, I've seen it take longer than a week, just make sure you give them fresh feed everyday, cut back on amount until they start eating it.....If they are eating alot of hay or grass this will also cause them to cut back on grains...

You Know something i do is feed Revive Extra to my deer before & After moving it helps calm them for stress because of the strain of Bacteria which creates B Vitamins. Check out the website www.Revivemicrobials.com

Jamie, is this a new pen that never had deer in it before?

If so, is there a lot of grazing for them??? that might answer the question

Yes it is a new pen never no deer in it . They are eating good now . I am rookie at this and got a little worried a little early . Thanks for the help .
