Hi Folks,

Was just wondering what your thoughts or experiences were with this situation. We have a pen with our yearling bucks in (6 total) we threw a yearling doe in with them last fall. (she is still in there). I am saying that she is bred because she was exposed to all those yearlings and even though she was a fawn then and the bucks were too she probably was bred real late like nov or dec. Any input or thoughts would be awsome!! Thanks guys!

I had one of my fawns take to a button buck but she was very large and early born she fawned 3 weeks ago. If she is tame go look at her milk bag if she is started you should beable to tell.

Could be as late as March and have fawns in Sept. This happened to us one year and from then on we have seperated all does from bucks before Christmas. Sept fawns are very small to be going thru a winter up north.

metroman, if she was bred in Nov or Dec, she would have fawned by now. It is possible for her to be bred as late as Feb or March. The latest I have ever had fawns was on Sept 23.

Of course, just because she was in with bucks, doesn't mean she came into heat and was bred. I would say there may be a 50/50 chance that she is bred. Was she atleast 75 pounds before spring? Usually the 75 pound mark is a benchmark for being big enough to trigger a heat.

I would think she would be showing now if she was pregnant.

Jack, I agree when we have bred our doe fawns in the past ,conception rates were always highest with fawns 75 pounds + in wieght. even if we put Cidrs in them to syncronize them. Fawns that late can be an added challenge all the way around! Good Luck
