Doe with broken leg or hip?

I have a doe that must have slipped on the ice or injured herself being chased by our breeder.

I am looking for any advice on what to do to her?

She has an obvious limp and is holding her leg up off the ground when she walks. However there is now fracture exteriorly and no sign of a break on the lower portion. Looks to me more like she has a dislocated hip or something of that nature.

Can I do anything for this? should I be giving her any meds or do I just let nature play itself out?

You can pop it back into place if out of the joint, never done it myself though. If its a high break I would leave her be besides giving some prevail for the pain. Just monitor her closely.

Hips out of socket can be put back in place or in time they will form a false joint and be fine , likely with a limp.  I would definitely separate her from the buck until she is healed.  I had a three legged doe that the buck attacked, literally shoved her under the fence into another pen  and broke her pelvis when he did it.  Lesson there was to put those type of does with a yearling because they will not be near as rough with them as a seasoned breeder.

Thank you for the replays.

Jerrilee, she has already been breed. watched her get breed about a week before her leg got injured so hopefully I am fine with that. I will try to separate her out and maybe put her in with the fawns since I'm pretty sure she is breed.

I was wondering what people think would be best. last year I had a doe get her front leg shot off by a hunter. is was basically dangling, so we tried putting a cast on it a  few times and had to dart her a bunch to do it. she ended up having two little babies ( about 2 pounds each). was hoping to avoid that scenario again this year

Help

I am not sure if you ever found an answer to your problem. I am not a deer farmer I found a newborn land beneath the horses and removed him so he wouldn't get hurt Mama never came back ended up raising him he's completely free he comes back every day to eat and play with my dog and lick on us he was missing for four days came home and holding his back leg up like someone mentioned on here I originally thought it was broke but now I'm wondering if it is out of place not at the hip but the joint below and if it is what it be swinging side to side no vet will help what can I do.
