Doe with broken leg or hip?

I have a doe that must have slipped on the ice or injured herself being chased by our breeder.

I am looking for any advice on what to do to her?

She has an obvious limp and is holding her leg up off the ground when she walks. However there is now fracture exteriorly and no sign of a break on the lower portion. Looks to me more like she has a dislocated hip or something of that nature.

Can I do anything for this? should I be giving her any meds or do I just let nature play itself out?

I had one I darted and broke her leg. Everyone told me to let her go. She healed well on her own. You could give banimine for pain. Like the old folks say time will heal all wounds

I also broke a hip on a doe with my dart gun.  It was hard for me to do nothing but that is what I was advised to do.  She healed on her own in a few months.  You can't tell it ever happened now.

I had to dart a fawn and broke his leg, in time he healed fine and you can barely tell. Whitetail are truly a resilient animal.

that's why we use 1/2" needles on fawns and use a CO2 pistol. I hate darting fawns but knock on wood we have not had any issues.  Now Jonathan is a fish net catching fool with his fawns, I think he is part cat.
