Does anyone own an 8yr old boy...

I need ideas that he could do while taking it easy(that are cool)

does he have a favorite sports team or player?

Oh and by the way you will become cool again later..... when they have a hard day they call just to make sure your OK, wheather from a oil sands refinary in nothern Alberta or they call home from school( Capetown ,South Africa) one day your realize your cool again, or maybe they aren't anymore. It's funny how toys recycle and the exact same toys I had as a kid are back in style...and cool

I have two boys-one eight and one is ten. Try finding the Rubix Sphere (not sure if that is the proper name) in your local toy aisle. My kids love it, and I do too! The previous Rubix puzzle is good for kids, too-the one that is flat and has about 8 separate squares that are tied together with some sort of plastic bands-the eight year old won't care about solving the puzzle itself but mine seems to like it because he can make cool shapes out of it while manipulating it. The first sells for about $20, the second is half of that. Good luck, stay cool...

1- Teach poetry. Try to have him deliver one from memory.

2- Deliver personal lunch play cards with him.

3- Review old photo albums and talk about the great qualities you saw in your parents.

4- Help him make get well cards for other children who are sick than or later deliver.

5- Watch Green Bay Packers play the vickings monday night.

My 8 year old is into most the stuff you mentioned in your post. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. As far as DS games; Batman Lego, Indiana Jones Lego, Ironman( favorite this week) Spiderman (Web of Shadows), and Transformers (both games Auto-bots and Decepticons). I love to play Speed Racer, but i'm not cool either! My boy has also started using the internet. If you have a laptop and wireless service in the Hospitol he is at, he can have fun there also. His favorite site is www.primarygames.com and Da buck channel.

Good luck, and I will keep you all in our prayers.

PS the time you are putting in for this kid makes you COOL!!

I go with a fly tying kit (you can furnish the deer hair) and a Bill O'Rielly book. Hunting books of all kinds as well. If he can't go outdoors then let his mind be there.
