Droopy ear

I noticed one of our 2 y/o doe's was not acting right this morning. Her left ear is drooped down and unless I try to walk up on her, she just stands there with her head down. Seem's odd. She looks healthy and has no other noticable issue's. Has anyone delt with this? Am I over thinking it?

Have you had wind and rain lately? Could be water in the ear or an ear infection? I would give a good dose of antibiotics and watch her.

You may want to check for ear mites. We had one get them two years ago, easily treated.

I have seen this come up on the forums before, and have had people ask me about this before. It is always about this time of year, What i think happens is the guard hairs at the edges of the ears are shedding just like the rest of the deers winter coat, and I believe that those little hairs fall down the ear canal and causes a little discomfort. Give your doe a few days, I bet she'll be fine, once she shakes those tiny hairs out of her ears. If she is still drooping her ear in a few days, i would treat as an infection, although a little LA200 now, just incase won't hurt.
