I have a 2 year old doe that has watery stool. She has been wormed with fenbenasal (sp) in feed and then again in 20 days. I put corid in water. Tried salumal (sp) in water, but they will not drink it put some jello in with it, but that did'nt work. took a stool sample to vet and came back clean. Just one in the pen this way. It has been 2 or 3 weeks. She acks fine maybe a little thin. I wont to dart her with something, but don't know what is best to use in a dart. Or do I put her down and inject her. Thanks for any advise.

What we would be treating in this case I am not sure, but the drug that most people dart into a deer when it is sick would be Draxxin. Again, not sure what you are dealing with. Is the feed and browse protein level maybe a little on the high side? Maybe she is one who is just sensitive to higher protein now that the pasture is greened out? Did she fawn this year? Is she feeding fawns or were they pulled? Any more info you could give to help everyone come up with ideas?

she fawned one fawn may 28th and I pulled it on may 30th. So no fawn on her now. I feed her and the others ADM 18%. Browse is mostly grasses and what trees are in there.

She has 3 other does in with her. Stress should be low. She is not bottle fed but I can get 5 or 10 feet. the others are.

DJ I feed my deer alot of treats apples, peaches, peanuts, watermelon, oak leaves, etc and i had one doe got loose after we used zuchinni this year i used TARGET PROBIOTICS WHITETAIL SPECIAL BLEND 12 after it did'nt clear up on its own used 1 scoop per deer per gallon of water for doe in that pen and cleared her up great for me but that was just what worked for me in my case good luck hope she gets better for you!

DJ, When I get a Doe like this I use Tetradure. About three cc's if you can. If you can put her in a chute, I would recommend a Probiotic paste like W/S recommended.

Just a thought, I'm not a Vet and I'm not sure what your treating other than scours.

Thanks all I have been putting probios in their feed. I don't have a shoot so I have to dart her.

We were having the same problem after switching to ADM 18% on quite a few farms in the area. The animal were healthy and looked great. The Bucks were growing out great also. We just could not get rid of the pastey poo issue. I haven't been able to get a feed analysis done yet but in the mean time i have added a textured feed to add some roughage and the deer have started to pellet up. Our deer simply will not eat hay during the green up months. We are using about 50% textured right now and may just switch to 100% textured. I dont know if this will help your situation but we tried everything and found this seems to be working now for us so far.

we keep the fibre at 1.5 times the protein level, our 17% protein = 22 % fibre, lower fibre is OK in the winter without all the high protein vegetation available for browse in the summer , try stopping feeding them "treats" and concentrate on a natural "wild" deer diet. Just like some people, she could have a tender stomach.
