I try to keep everyone informed as I gain information. I have spoken to a few folks lately and as of Friday there are 2 confirmed cases of EHD. 1 near Corpus and 1 in the valley (Zapata).

The does should have been vaccinated during their pregnancy.. It won't do any good for the fawns til they are 3-4 months old ...

the does were vaccinated during pregnancy, was just wondering what is the earliest the fawns can be vaccinated since 3 months old puts us into sept for some and that seems to be when it is higher risk? Thanks.

Josh, Bill Pittenger told me that you can vaccinate them at 7,14 and 21 days old to help protect them. He also said that there has been some pass down immunity with the does being vaccinated. Good luck.

P.S. I have done the 7,14,21 days for three years now with great results for me.

Josh , Michael is right and few know thier stuff like Bill Pitinger!!! We vac ours July 4th every year and again in 10 days and ours will beless than a month old and have had no problems!

I was just repeating what i was told from a conversation i had with the microbiologiest that made the missouri vaccine.. he told me that i would have to vaccinate every couple weeks til the fawns were 10 to 12 weeks old. It what your doin works i wouldn't change it ...
