I have a fellow deer farmer that checked his deer this morning and all seemed fine. This afternoon he found one of his yearling bucks foaming out both sides of his mouth, head dragging and very lethargic. Looks pitiful he said. This morning the deer looked fine. He was hit hard with EHD last year. Any thoughts?

I am in South Alabama, I am already spraying and fogging for Midge flies. I was hit really hard too last

Year. Hit him hard with steroids. I saved one. Praying

SO Sorry. Let us know what the cause was. Anyone else sick?

Did you spray any for the midge fly? What did you use?

Thanks Jerrilee, I first told him that and he thought it could be ehd since he had it so bad last year. A long deer farmer here said the same as you today.

We are in PA and have two does with the exact same symptoms. We lost the first one, we had the vet come out and he could find nothing physically wrong with her she died that night. We gave her antibiotics and vitamins. The second we found this am the vet could not make it out but he suggested mineral deficiency and told us to give her calcium. She was able to walk better tonight keeping our fingers crossed.

We thought pneumonia as well as we had a round over the winter in a few fawns but no labored breathing or wheezing just foam at the mouth. She had twin doe fawns that were a week old that we had to pull as well. ???????
